Completion of Deep Debris Removal

Start of Excavation Work

The preparatory deep debris removal on the Tacheles site has been completed on schedule. Up to four metres have been excavated with archaeological assistance. Now work can begin on the actual excavation pit itself. The construction phase is slated to last approx. 36 months. A total of 325,000 cubic metres of excavated material will have to be removed at depths of up to 12 metres. A consortium of companies, comprising Implenia, Stump and Keller, has been commissioned. The work is to be completed by the second quarter of 2019 at the latest. Final completion work is slated for the first quarter of 2020.
